Missing Performance Counters

I don't see ScaleOut StateServer's Windows performance counters in perfmon after upgrading to the latest release. How do I get them back?

Versions of ScaleOut StateServer prior to release 4.2.30.194 had an issue that could cause the service's Windows performance counters to permanently disappear after an upgrade or when running on a system with a non-US locale. To resolve the issue, upgrade to a version later than 4.2.30.194 and then manually rebuild the SOSS performance counters using the following steps:
  • Open a command prompt. Be sure you are running it as Administrator.
  • Run the following command to ensure that your system’s performance counters have been cleanly rebuilt: lodctr /R
  • From the command line, change your current directory to the ScaleOut installation directory and run the following command: lodctr soss_perflib.ini
  • Restart perfmon and the ScaleOut StateServer service, and verify that the performance counters are working as expected.
