License Expired in EC2 AMI

I am running scaleout compute server on EC2 build from the AMI on the AWS marketplace. The license expiration field show '05-20-2016' and when I try to join the store from the SOSS console (by clicking 'Join') I get " has an invalid license key".

Please launch a new instance with the latest version – 5.4.3.255 – for an updated license key. If you’re running more than one instance, you can perform a modified rolling upgrade procedure, where instead of uninstalling the old version and installing the new version, you terminate the old instance and launch a new instance instead.

Alright. Why did this happen? Are the older versions deprecated?

The temporary license key is an artifact of AWS Marketplace licensing. When we release a new version to the marketplace, the embedded license key is typically good for one year. Our engineering team is aware of this oddity and are designing an alternative approach scheduled to be released later this year.
